When you walk in the front door there is a small landing with steps leading
down to the sunken living room or up a flight of stairs to the
bathroom, guest room, library and master bedroom.
 

The sunken living room feels like a den, informal and relaxed.
I have a computer, table and working area on the left out of the picture frame and
next to the television. I watch the Food Network often while I am
drawing, writing or communicating with my friends ...
or the mystery channel or BBC. It's perfect for me.

 
I can also wander out to the patio and the garden whenever I need to get some air
or see how the plants are doing.

That's Chris studying Japanese and having some coffee on Sunday
afternoon ... The little beechwood trestle tables are handy
and get moved around all over the place continually.
