"If your life isn't a love story
then what is it? ... " -
Adam

adamIn these pages of tender memories, I have attempted to capture real events as I recall them. These are the intimate histories that life has recorded on the soft and yielding parchment of my own skin. I hope they serve as an appreciation of the benign force of Eros, the primal enamorating urge of life towards its own greater self.

The urge to touch and be touched, to admire and be admired, to hold and be held is an essential part of every human being. A French poet once said "Our bodies are torches that light the way." Without a willingness to pursue my erotic interests, many valuable relationships and enriching experiences would never have entered my life. My personal belief is that Eros is never in error. Regardless of the direction of one's sexuality, its ultimate goal is unity, ecstasy, a sense of belonging to the cosmos, to the Earth and to all its living creatures.

In writing these stories, I've occasionally used the four-letter language that ordinary everyday people use in moments of private passion. My intention is not to shock or offend anyone, but to remind myself that when these words are spoken by mature human beings embracing the wonder and mystery of each other's bodies, they are and always will be words of love.

My story "Papabear Beau" has recently been published by Alyson Publications under the editorship of Ron Suresha. It will be given its first public reading at the 2005 International Bear Rendezvous the weekend of February 18-20 at the Ramada Inn, San Francisco Civic Center.
